Therapeutic Action:
It is indicated for the treatment of hyperthyroidism and in special cases of thyroid carcinoma. This medicine is for therapeutic use in:
– Graves’ disease, single or multiple diffuse toxic multinodular goiter or autonomous thyroid nodules.
– For the treatment of papillary and follicular carcinoma of the thyroid, including recurrent metastatic disease after surgery. Sodium iodide (131I) treatment is often associated with surgery and antithyroid drugs.
